FAQ's
As we've just launched, we haven't had too many questions yet, only the questions that were raised in our testing process. So, if you have any questions, please contact us.
Do I have to change my team each week?
There's a lot of fantasy football games. Why should I play Extreme team Football?
Isn't everyone going to have the same teams?
Does a player score points if they are substituted?
How many players can I change during the transfer windows?
Do I have to register to play Extreme Team Football?
No, you don't have to change your team each gameweek. However if you don't, it's likely you won't win your league. Just think about the first week in which you choose most of your players playing at home. Most of those players in the second week will be playing away and teams have a much lower chance of winning away games (around 26% compared to 47% for home teams). Therefore if you keep the same players, it's likely they will not score as well in the second week.
There are three main reasons why we believe Extreme Team Football is more challenging and fun:
1. It's more like being a 'real' EPL manager - you faces the challenges of squad selection (with transfer windows in July/August and January) then weekly squad rotation
2. As you have to choose a player from every EPL club and have a rigid 1-4-4-2 formation, it test your knowledge of players across all clubs and positions
3. The depth of content and statistics on the website helps you make informed decisions in your selections.
One of the problems of many fantasy football games is that managers tend to select similar EPL players. In some fantasy games you select 11 players and then make up to 30 transfers each year, so you have a maximum of 30 players each year. Extreme Team Football is more like being a 'real' EPL manager where you change your squad in transfer windows, then rotate this weekly. As such, you can make 11 changes to your team each week, so you potentially have 385 changes each year. And it's likely that you actively have to rotate your squad to succeed. In summary, it's less likely in XTF that managers will have the same teams each week.
In Extreme Team Football, a player scores points for the entire match even if they are substituted or injured. And the subsitute also scores points for the entire match, except for starter points. The most extreme example was Petr Cech being injured in the 5th minute against Reading but bizarrely was still Man-of-the-Match in Chelsea's 1-0 victory.
Just like in the EPL, as many as you like.
Yes, if you want to play the game you must register. You will provide some information like your name and email address, but we follow the guidelines of the Data Protection Act so your personal information is safeguarded (you can refer to our Privacy Policy). Whilst you must register to play the game, you can visit most of the site without registering. This means that unregistered users can use all the site except the Manager section.
